Children’s librarians provide activities for youngsters
from infants through grade school.
Storytime and crafts for toddlers is held every Thursday at
10:30 am throughout the year.
Storytime every Saturday @10:30 Sponsored by the KiwanisClub. All ages are welcomed.
Special programs are given
for school-age children. Schools are invited to visit the library for tours,
instruction, and stories. Please call at least two weeks in advance to arrange
for a visit. (758-3063) Summer programs provide both entertainment and
informational activities. The Children’s Library participates in the RIF
(Reading is Fundamental) program and holds book give-aways several times a year.
The Children’s book collection covers a broad range of fiction and non-fiction
titles. We also have magazines, audio books, CD’s, DVD's and Videos for
children. Audio/Video materials can be listened to or viewed
in the Children's Library and can also be checked out for 7 days at
a time. There is a limit of 4 Audio/Visual materials per
family.
There are four computers in the Children’s Library for the
exclusive use of patrons 18 and under. They are internet accessible.
Children are allowed two 30 minute sessions on the computers per
day.
The Library has a special interest in teenagers and is
developing a Young Adult area in the Main Library. Books and materials for youths
aged 10-18 are located in this area. Class visits may be scheduled if
arrangements are made two weeks ahead of time. (758-3063)
